about

"Campfire indie pop"
- 2011 RAW Artist Awards

A byproduct of high school marching band and percussion programs, Thought Police was originally conceived in 2006 by childhood friends, Niko Jasniewicz, Damon Tordini, and Abel Stearns, from Fountain Valley, CA. After befriending the trio, Roque Castañeda joined the group in 2010 to complete the band roster. Floating its current lineup for five years running, the southern California band has already seen itself evolve into what was described at the 2011 RAW Artists Awards as “campfire indie pop”- packing catchy acoustic riffs, funky drumbeats, vocal harmonies and keyboard hooks. Classically trained, the foursome have compiled a resume of shows at over two dozen SoCal venues, including such staples as the Glasshouse, Key Club, Detroit Bar, Chain Reaction and House of Blues, while simultaneously breaking ground on their self-titled debut EP.
